What is a course material?

A course material is a textbook or other courseware used for instruction in a course. This can be digital or physical textbooks as well as other resources adopted by faculty and instructors for use within intended course.

Where can I see my booklist?

You can access your booklist on the AU Bookstore website by logging in and going to “My Curriculum”.


What does my booklist show?

Booklist will show all course materials for enrolled courses. This includes any digital All Access and any physical textbooks. It will include the price of each as well, so you can have visibility into cost.

What is All Access?

All Access is the Bookstore's inclusive access program, which converts previously physical course materials into digital content. This material is ready and waiting for you on the first day of class.


Who can participate in All Access?

All students are currently eligible to participate in AU All Access if the courses they are enrolled in are utilizing All Access materials. Each term, students will be automatically enrolled in All Access and provided with access to required course materials by the first day of class.


Are students required to participate in All Access?

No. Students may choose to “opt out” of All Access in any given term by the 15th class day of the term, which coincides with the last day to drop a class.

Note: If you opt out of courseware that is used for homework or quizzes, you will lose access when you opt out and be unable to complete your work.


Do students need to sign up for All Access?

No. Students are automatically enrolled in All Access if their course is using All Access materials.


What is considered courseware?

All Access uses a variety of vendors and courseware providers to help ensure students get the best price and best possible materials.

When will I receive access to my All Access materials?

You will receive access to All Access materials by the 1st day of class.


How do students acccess digitial course materials?

To access digital course materials for any given course, students simply log in to Canvas and access material based on vendor.


Can I access an eBook with my mobible device? All Access was designed to be fully device agnostic, scalable, and allow simultaneous usage across multiple devices.

What is the opt-out deadline?

Students may opt-in or opt-out at any time before the add/drop deadline.

  • Deadline for the fall and spring semester is the fifteenth-class day.
  • Deadline for the summer semester is the fifth-class day.

I have opted out, what can I expect and how do I purchase textbooks?

Take a look at your book list, which also features the online price comparison tool. Both print and digital requirements will be available for individual purchase.

After you checkout, digital items will be emailed to you with activation instructions. Print textbooks can be picked up in store or shipped.


I opted out but changed my mind, can I re-enroll?

Yes. Prior to opt out deadline, you can opt back into All Access. After opt-out deadline, please email books@auburn.edu to request to opt in. Once confirmed, the charge will be submitted to be charged on account.


What if I add/drop the course, how do I get access to my materials?

When adding a course, the course materials will become available to you on Canvas. Course enrollment changes can take up to 48 hours to be processed. If printed materials are required for your new course, information can be found on the My Course Materials tab in Canvas.

When dropping a course, any digital course materials access will be removed in tandem with your enrollment drop. Physical books may be eligible for buyback at the AU Bookstore.


Can I opt out of materials after the opt out deadline?

Students are unable to opt out of All Access after the deadline. If student is still enrolled after deadline, charges will remain on the ebill and need to be paid. Refunds will not be available. Opt out reminder emails will be sent leading up to deadline date. My course materials are physical textbooks, but I prefer digital. Can I get a digital copy?


Depending on book, the AU Bookstore does offer digital options for purchase at aubookstore.com

Are there courses where All Access isn’t used?

Yes, there are courses that still use physical text books. These will be labeled on your book list as just the book title and not include “All Access” in the title.


How do I get my required physical textbooks that are not delivered digitally?

The AU Bookstore carries most required physical textbooks. Students can purchase in store or on the website for pickup in store. Delivery is available at additional cost.


The website shows “Out of Stock” for my physical textbooks. What can I do?

Continue placing order for item on the website. This will create a backorder request and secure your copy on the next purchase order. Once book arrives, we will email you to come pick it up. This may take 1-2 weeks depending on textbook vendors.


My course materials are digital, but I prefer a physical copy. Can I get a physical copy?

Due to publisher agreements and availability, we are unable to acquire physical copies of All Access materials at the bookstore. If students want physical copies, they will need to acquire on their own.

  • What do I do if a course material is on my syllabus, but it is not showing up on “My Course Materials” in Canvas? Do I need to go buy that material separately?

    Please email books@auburn.edu with a copy of your syllabus and we will work to figure out solution.


    My course indicates “No Text is Required.” What does this mean?

    Your instructor has indicated that no materials need to be purchased for the class.


    My course indicates “No Information Found.” What should I do?

    This indicates that the instructor or department has not yet submitted course material information. Please check back in a few days or check with your instructor.


    I did not get a code for my digital book purchase. What do I do?

    If you do not receive an email with code and instructions within one business day, contact AU Bookstore staff at books@auburn.edu.


    My course materials are digital, but I prefer a physical copy. Can I get a physical copy?

    Due to publisher agreements and availability, we are unable to acquire physical copies of All Access materials at the bookstore. If students want physical copies, they will need to acquire on their own.

When am I charged for All Access?

You will see the All Access charge on your first university bill of the semester. The charge is billed then, but you have until the 15th day of class to opt-out of the program and the charge would then be reversed. This gives you the maximum amount of time to make choices about your course schedule and material needs.


Can I use my e-bill for physical course materials?

Yes, you can charge course materials to your e-bill by ordering online and selecting your e-bill as payment option or by shopping in store and telling the cashier you would like to pay using e-bill.


Can students use financial aid to pay for course materials?

Yes. You will be able to use financial aid and scholarship money to pay for course materials. You can now charge course materials to your bursar bill in-store and online.


I see two charges on my e-bill with the same description (ex. AU DBA BKSTR PSYC3640 844-4241). Is this correct?

In most cases, yes. Because All Access materials are charged at the material item level, courses using multiple digital materials will have multiple charges. The description of the charge will be the same, but the dollar amount of the charge will be different.


When will my opt out be credited to my bursar bill after opting out our All Access?

Credit to your bill may take up to 7-21 business days once opt out has been processed.


What about contract billing?

Charges for All Access will be put on your e-bill and then paid through contract billing. You can also purchase physical textbooks at the AU Bookstore and charge those to the e-bill for contract billing needs as well.
